背面描述 The reverse depicts a full-color representation of the Temple of Kukulcán (El Castillo), the iconic stepped Mesoamerican pyramid located at Chichen Itza in Yucatán State, Mexico, originally constructed by the Maya civilization. The pyramid is shown in three-quarter perspective, its terraced stone stairways and serpent-head balustrades rendered in vivid polychrome color against a naturalistic background. The Latin legend CHICHEN ITZA is inscribed above the design, with the date 2008 and the numeral 7 — denoting its designation as one of the New Seven Wonders of the World — appearing in the field.

附加信息

Mongolia has issued commemorative coins depicting World Heritage Sites from across the globe since the early 2000s, a program driven less by cultural connection than by the collector market for colorized novelty issues. Chichen Itza was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1988 and named one of the New Seven Wonders of the World in a 2007 public poll — the timing making this 2008 issue an obvious commercial response to that renewed international attention.

KM#307.2 distinguishes this from the non-colorized variant, both struck on silver-plated copper rather than solid silver — a detail worth noting when buyers encounter listings that obscure the base metal.
