Obverse description Within a square frame occupying most of the field, the Austrian federal eagle — a stylised double-headed eagle rendered in a bold, modernist graphic style — is depicted centrally, with the shield of Austria on its breast and broken chains at its talons. The legend 'REPUBLIK ÖSTERREICH' appears in block capitals across the upper portion of the square frame, while the large denomination numeral '100' is prominently displayed in the lower section, followed by 'SCHILLING' in the exergual area of the frame. The engraver's signature 'GSÖLL' appears in small letters below the central design. The composition reflects the contemporary Austrian commemorative coinage aesthetic of the 1970s, with geometric, architecturally inspired lettering.
