| Beschrijving keerzijde | The truncated bare-headed effigy of Pope Paul VI faces left at right, depicted in clerical vestments with finely rendered facial detail. To the left, two prominent Philippine ecclesiastical buildings are shown in detailed relief: St. Peter's Basilica rendered in the upper left background, and a domed colonial Baroque cathedral occupying the lower left foreground. Radiating sun rays emanate from the upper center of the field, symbolizing the papal pilgrimage. The date '1970' appears in the left field, and the curved legend 'PILGRIM IN THE PHILIPPINES' runs along the lower periphery within a beaded border. |

| Aanvullende informatie |
Fujairah was one of the smaller Trucial States operating under British protection when it began issuing commemorative gold coinage in the late 1960s — a practice driven almost entirely by the international numismatic market rather than any domestic monetary need. These issues were produced for export and collector sale, not circulation, a fact that makes the choice of subject matter telling: Pope Paul VI's January 1970 visit to the Philippines was a globally covered event, and the Trucial States mints understood Western Catholic collector demand precisely.
Fujairah formally joined the UAE federation in 1971, after which these sovereign issues ceased entirely.
