Description de l’avers	Intaglio portrait of Nelson Mandela occupies the right half of the note against a multicolour guilloche underprint in shades of blue, green, and yellow. The South African coat of arms appears at upper left alongside the Governor's signature and the bank title SOUTH AFRICAN RESERVE BANK in bold serif lettering across the top. The vertical inscription MANDELA CENTENARY 1918–2018 and ONE HUNDRED RAND run along the right margin, with the large numeral 100 printed in colour-shifting ink at lower left.

Description du revers	The left portion carries an intaglio vignette of a young Nelson Mandela dressed in traditional Xhosa beaded attire, with the word MADIBA inscribed vertically beside him. A scenic view of Robben Island with the surrounding coastline and a foreground arrangement of flowers occupies the centre of the note, labelled ROBBEN ISLAND. The large numeral 100 appears at lower centre against a multicolour guilloche background, with the inscription MANDELA CENTENARY 1918–2018 along the right margin.
