A vertical SARB windowed security thread runs through the centre, and a colour-shifting elephant hologram element appears at lower right, accompanied by an optically variable numeral cluster along the right margin. |

The reverse, predominantly in blue and gold, centres on a bold intaglio vignette of an adult Cape Buffalo with calf standing in grass, set against a sunburst guilloche and traditional Ndebele-style geometric underprint. The denomination numeral '100' and 'RAND' appear in the upper left and lower right respectively, with the serial number printed twice — vertically in red at left and horizontally in black at upper right. Bank name inscriptions in Sepedi and Tsonga are rendered in letterpress along the upper and lower margins. |
