| Reverse description | The reverse depicts a panoramic view of Zacatecas, featuring a cable car in the upper portion above the Monumento al Minero at left, with the ornate facade of the Cathedral de Zacatecas prominently rendered at centre right. The design celebrates the colonial heritage and architectural landmarks of the state of Zacatecas. The denomination $100, the mint year 2007, and the state name ZACATECAS appear as inscriptions within the composition. The proof surface provides fine detail to the architectural and figural elements throughout the field. |

| Additional information |
Part of the Casa de Moneda de México's long-running state series, this issue commemorates Zacatecas — a state whose silver mines, worked continuously since the 1540s, produced an estimated one-fifth of all the world's silver during the colonial period. The irony of striking a bimetallic proof in both gold and fine silver is not lost on anyone familiar with the region's history: Zacatecas essentially bankrolled the Spanish Crown for two centuries.
KM#893 is one of the harder dates to source in fully matched proof condition, as the gold-silver interface is prone to contact marks from careless handling at the point of sale.
