Obverse description The Mexican national arms occupy the gold centre field, depicting the golden eagle perched on a cactus and devouring a serpent, rendered in high-relief proof finish. The eagle is flanked by an ornamental wreath of oak and laurel branches tied at the base. The legend ESTADOS UNIDOS MEXICANOS curves along the upper periphery of the silver outer ring in Latin script.

Reverse description The gold centre field displays a detailed proof rendering of the facade of the Caja Real (Royal Treasury) building of San Luis Potosí, a notable example of colonial Baroque architecture featuring an ornate doorway and twin towers. The denomination $100 appears to the left and the date 2007 to the right within the gold centre. The legend SAN LUIS POTOSÍ curves along the upper portion of the silver outer ring, while CAJA REAL is inscribed along the lower portion, each flanked by decorative rosette stops. The mint mark Mo is also present.
