| 裏面の説明 | The silver centre field displays the elaborately detailed coat of arms of the State of San Luis Potosí, depicting a crowned figure of Saint Louis IX of France standing atop a rocky hill, flanked by oval cartouches representing mineral wealth, all set within a baroque-style shield surmounted by scrollwork and cartouche ornaments. The aluminium bronze outer ring carries the legend ESTADO DE SAN LUIS POTOSÍ along the upper arc, with a border of raised dots. The mintmark Mo appears at the left of the centre disc, the date 2004 is inscribed in the lower field below the shield, and the denomination $100 is struck along the lower arc of the ring. |

Part of Mexico's long-running "Estados de la República Mexicana" bimetallic series, which ran from 2004 to 2009 and devoted one issue to each of the country's 31 states plus the Federal District. San Luis Potosí's inclusion in the early 2004 wave reflects alphabetical scheduling rather than any particular anniversary. The silver centre is struck in .925 — materially finer than the .720 silver used in Mexico's mid-century circulation coinage — making these pieces technically precious despite their nominal collector-series status.
