Aanvullende informatie

Part of Banco de México's long-running "Estados de la República Mexicana" series, which produced a bimetallic proof coin for each of Mexico's 31 states plus the Federal District. Each issue was strictly limited, with the gold centre individually cast and fitted rather than struck as a single blank — a production complexity that kept mintages well below comparable silver-only commemoratives of the period.

Baja California's 2005 release coincided with the state's 54th anniversary of achieving full statehood, having been a federal territory until 1952.
