| 裏面の説明 | The reverse displays the coat of arms of the State of Baja California in the gold-toned bimetallic centre, featuring a quartered shield with regional heraldic elements rendered in sharp proof relief. The date 2005 appears to the right of the central shield within the inner disc. The denomination $100 is inscribed in the lower portion of the silver outer ring in bold raised numerals. The legend ESTADO DE BAJA CALIFORNIA arcs along the upper periphery of the silver ring. The mint mark Mo, denoting the Mexico City Mint, appears as part of the reverse inscription. |

Part of Banco de México's long-running "Estados de la República Mexicana" series, which produced a bimetallic proof coin for each of Mexico's 31 states plus the Federal District. Each issue was strictly limited, with the gold centre individually cast and fitted rather than struck as a single blank — a production complexity that kept mintages well below comparable silver-only commemoratives of the period.
Baja California's 2005 release coincided with the state's 54th anniversary of achieving full statehood, having been a federal territory until 1952.
