A yellow guilloche underprint in the form of a stylised map of the province of Corrientes fills the central field, over which the full title of the instrument and the CECACOR acronym are printed in bold letterpress. The denomination "100 / CIEN PESOS" appears in large numerals and letters at left and lower right in mauve ink, with two manuscript signatures below the bearer clause and an oval purple control stamp at lower left. |

Corrientes issued its own quasi-currency in 2001 as the province descended into a fiscal crisis it could no longer paper over through federal transfers. These provincial bonds — technically interest-bearing instruments but functioning as circulating currency — were one of several such emissions across Argentina's provinces in the months before the national corralito froze bank accounts in December. Corrientes had in fact been under federal intervention since 1999 after defaulting on its payroll obligations, making this emission a product of sustained provincial insolvency rather than a sudden shock.
Casa de Moneda printed the series, giving these bonds a physical credibility that outlasted the economic conditions that made them necessary.
