Obverse description The elaborate tughra of Sultan Selim III occupies the upper portion of the field, rendered in the characteristic calligraphic Ottoman style with sweeping loops and vertical strokes. Beneath the tughra, a horizontal band contains the mint name and regnal year in Arabic script. The entire central composition is enclosed within a plain circular border. The overall design follows the standard Ottoman provincial coinage convention, with the sovereign's monogram dominating the obverse field.
