Reverse description The reverse is divided into three horizontal registers of Arabic legend contained within a rectangular frame, itself set within a dotted circular border. The uppermost register bears the sultan's title as ruler of the two lands and lord of the two seas, the middle register continues the honorific with the title of sovereign of sovereigns, and the lower register identifies the ruler as the sultan, son of the sultan. Regnal numerals appear in the lower field outside the cartouche. The bold, deeply struck Thuluth-style calligraphy fills the available field with commanding authority.
