Beschrijving voorzijde The Bhutanese national emblem is depicted at centre within a beaded circle, featuring two dragons flanking a central vajra (thunderbolt) above a dharma wheel, all rendered in fine relief against a mirror field. The dual date 1995 appears on either side of the central device, flanking the emblem. The upper legend reads KINGDOM OF BHUTAN in raised Latin letters arcing around the upper periphery, while a Dzongkha script inscription curves along the lower border.

Aanvullende informatie

Saint Paul's Walden Bury in Hertfordshire is the childhood home of Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother, and this coin was issued as part of Bhutan's extensive run of foreign-themed commemoratives that proliferated through the 1990s — a deliberate revenue strategy by the Royal Monetary Authority targeting overseas collector markets rather than domestic circulation. The series had almost no connection to Bhutanese monetary history or culture.

KM#84 is one of dozens of similarly specified pieces from this period, struck to the same parameters as countless other Bhutanese commemoratives of the decade.
