At top centre, a black rectangular panel bears the numeral '100' flanked by diamond ornaments, below which the denomination 'Einhundert Mark' appears in bold Gothic (Fraktur) letterpress; the main body text states the Stadtgemeinde Heidelberg will pay the bearer on demand, dated 'Heidelberg, den 28. September 1922'. A red serial number and series letter appear at lower left, a dry embossed municipal seal is applied at centre, and the manuscript signature of the Oberbürgermeister is placed at lower right. |

The central vignette presents a panoramic bird's-eye view of Heidelberg castle and city as seen from the Heiligenberg, with the Neckar river and its bridge in the foreground, captioned 'Königstuhl' at the top of the image. Marginal inscriptions along all four borders attribute the scene to a drawing by Peter Friedrich von Walpergen made after the destruction of 1693. |
