The upper central area is occupied by a large engraved battle vignette commemorating the heroic death of 400 Pforzheim citizens at the Battle of Wimpfen on 6 May 1622, led by their mayor Deimling, rendered in a detailed historicist illustrative style with cavalry, infantry, and fallen soldiers.
