A large central cartouche of intricate lathe-work guilloche frames the numeral "100" in outline script, flanked by symmetrical foliate scrollwork. Four shield-shaped vignettes bearing the Höchst wheel emblem are placed at each corner, and the legend "Stadt Höchst am Main" appears in Kurrent script at the upper centre, with "Hundert Mark" in matching Kurrent lettering along the lower margin.
