The composition is executed in bold high relief, conveying strength and imperial grandeur. The upper field bears the legend REGNO D'ITALIA and the date 1906 in two lines. Below the ground line, the word PROVA appears to the left and the engraver's mark S.J. (Stefano Johnson) to the right. The denomination LIRE CENTO is displayed in a rectangular cartouche in the lower field, flanked by ornamental devices. A beaded border encircles the design. |
