Informazioni aggiuntive	Zambia's 1998 coinage was issued against a backdrop of severe economic deterioration — the kwacha had lost roughly 99% of its value against the dollar since independence, and the 100-kwacha denomination, once meaningful, had been reduced to near-worthless pocket change by the time these were struck. Within a decade, the country would redenominate entirely, replacing 1,000 old kwacha with a single new one in 2013.
