| Obverse description | A dynamic biga scene occupies the upper field, depicting a standing charioteer driving a two-horse chariot at full gallop to the right, whip raised aloft in his right hand while controlling the reins with his left. The horses are rendered with vigorous musculature in the neoclassical style characteristic of engraver Giuseppe Romagnoli, with the signatures G. ROMAGNOLI and A. MOTTI INC. incused in the lower right field. The lower portion of the field is divided by a horizontal groundline, below which appears the bilingual legend SHQIPNI / ALBANIA in two lines, flanked by the date 1926 to the left and the mint mark R to the right. The denomination FR. 100 is inscribed across the base in large characters. |
