Reverse description The arms of Monaco displayed centrally as a full heraldic achievement: an escutcheon fusilly bendy of argent and gules, supported by two robed monks standing to either side and draped in mantles. The entire composition is surmounted by the princely crown topped with a cross. The word CENT appears to the left of the shield and FRANCS to the right, forming the denomination legend in the field. The date 1884 is inscribed at the bottom of the field below the shield, flanked by small decorative stars. The rim is bordered by a continuous beaded inner collar.
