Obverse description Bare-headed bust of Prince Charles III of Monaco facing right, rendered in high relief with fine sculptural detail characteristic of Hubert Ponscarme's engraving style. The prince is depicted with short wavy hair and a prominent beard. The circular legend CHARLES III PRINCE DE MONACO runs along the upper periphery, while the engraver's signature PONSCARME appears at the base of the truncation and the Paris Mint mark A is positioned at the bottom of the field. The rim is bordered by a continuous beaded inner collar.
