| Aanvullende informatie |
Willy Brandt's 1970 Kniefall von Warschau — his unrehearsed genuflection before the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising memorial — remains one of the most discussed gestures in postwar European diplomacy. Mali has issued a long series of small-format gold pieces honoring foreign political figures, a revenue-generating program with no meaningful connection to Malian history or monetary circulation. These coins are sold directly to collectors and never see West African commerce.
