| Obverse description | Central field bears the national coat of arms of Mali, depicting a stylised vulture displayed above a bow and crossed arrows, with a rising sun motif at the base, all rendered in high relief. The classical Hellenistic-influenced facade is shown with its characteristic urn-topped tholos and flanking half-pediments, carved directly from the rose-red sandstone cliff face.
