Beschrijving voorzijde The obverse features the national coat of arms of Burkina Faso centrally positioned within a raised circular border. The arms depict a shield charged with a white star, supported on either side by rearing white stallions, with two crossed spears and an open book beneath. The legend BURKINA FASO appears on a scroll above the shield, while the motto UNITÉ PROGRÈS JUSTICE is inscribed on a ribbon below. The outer legend REPUBLIQUE DU BURKINA FASO arcs around the lower portion of the circle, and the denomination 100 FRANCS CFA is repeated in each arm of the cross-shaped flan.

Aanvullende informatie

Issued under the BCEAO framework but bearing no relation to the economic functions of the West African CFA franc, this is a collector piece produced for the international numismatic market — not for circulation in any of the eight member states. The BCEAO has issued a wide range of such religious and commemorative types since the early 2000s, leveraging its issuing authority to generate seigniorage revenue from foreign buyers rather than domestic monetary use.

Silver-plated copper rather than solid silver keeps production costs minimal on pieces sold primarily through European and Asian wholesale distributors.
