The arms depict a shield charged with a white star, supported on either side by rearing white stallions, with two crossed spears and an open book beneath. The legend BURKINA FASO appears on a scroll above the shield, while the motto UNITÉ PROGRÈS JUSTICE is inscribed on a ribbon below. The outer legend REPUBLIQUE DU BURKINA FASO arcs around the lower portion of the circle, and the denomination 100 FRANCS CFA is repeated in each arm of the cross-shaped flan. |
