| Reverse description | A stylised portrait of Ernesto Che Guevara, inspired by the iconic Korda photograph, is rendered in polished steel outline set against a red coloured circular field at centre. Guevara is depicted facing slightly left, wearing his characteristic beret adorned with a red five-pointed star. The name ERNESTO CHE GUEVARA arcs along the upper rim in bold raised letters. To the left field, the Spanish inscription LA REVOLUCIÓN is arranged vertically in stacked lettering, while to the right the English quotation BETTER TO DIE STANDING THAN TO LIVE ON YOUR KNEES is similarly stacked. The birth and death years 1928-1967 appear in the lower exergue. |

| Additional information |
The Republic of the Congo has no meaningful historical or biographical connection to Che Guevara — which makes this issue exactly what it is: a modern numismatic product licensed to a collector market, using a sovereign issuing authority primarily for legal tender status. The CFA franc zone does not circulate commemorative silver strikes of this weight; none of this was minted for Congolese commerce.
Guevara did pass through Africa — his disastrous 1965 Congo intervention, backing Laurent-Désiré Kabila's rebels, ended in quiet withdrawal after seven months. That Congo, however, was the Democratic Republic, not the Republic of the Congo issuing this coin.
