Additional information

The Central African Republic has no coastline and no whales. Like many landlocked nations, it has periodically authorized novelty issues through third-party minting arrangements — coins designed entirely for the collector market, with no relationship to the issuing country's history, economy, or fauna. This piece is one of those.

KM#19 was struck under licensing arrangements common to small Francophone African states whose minting authority is effectively administered externally.
