| Obverse description | Three Giant Eland antelopes (Taurotragus derbianus) depicted in high relief, their heads and long spiralling horns emerging from a bed of stylized tall grass occupying the lower field. The animals face right in a naturalistic, layered composition conveying depth and movement. The curved legend REPUBLIQUE CENTRAFRICAINE arcs along the upper periphery. The engraver's signature G.B.BAZOR appears to the right of the central motif, with the mint mark (R) visible at the lower center of the field. |
