| 裏面の説明 | The central device features the official Albertville 1992 Winter Olympics emblem, depicting a stylized flame and star motif in high relief. The denomination 100 FRANCS is inscribed prominently to the right of the central emblem, with the date 1989 running vertically along the left side. The legend XVIes JEUX OLYMPIQUES D'HIVER curves along the upper periphery, while ALBERTVILLE 92 appears in the lower field. The five interlocked Olympic rings are displayed at the base of the design. |

Issued as part of France's extended commemorative program for the 1992 Albertville Winter Olympics, this piece appeared three years before the Games themselves — Monnaie de Paris began the series in 1989 to spread mintage and revenue across multiple years rather than flooding the market at once. Albertville's selection as host city in 1986 had been a surprise win over Sofia, backed heavily by the personal lobbying of Michel Barnier, then a young politician from Savoie.
