| Obverse description | Three Giant Elands (Taurotragus derbianus) depicted in profile facing left, rendered in fine relief amid stylized savanna grasses, their long spiraled horns overlapping dramatically to fill the upper field. The group portrait is executed in a naturalistic yet decorative style characteristic of Bazor's engraving work. The circular legend REPUBLIQUE DU TCHAD arcs along the upper periphery, while the engraver's signature G.B.L.BAZOR appears to the right in the field.
