Additional information

The Bank of Central African States — Banque des États de l'Afrique Centrale — issues currency on behalf of six nations simultaneously: Cameroon, Central African Republic, Chad, Republic of Congo, Equatorial Guinea, and Gabon. Each member state receives coins struck with an individual letter code identifying the issuing country, making what appears to be a single type into at least six distinct collectible varieties. Equatorial Guinea, the only Spanish-speaking member, joined the CFA franc zone in 1985, which is why its letter code appears only on later dates within this range.
