The March 1961 signature date predates the BCEAO's own founding, suggesting the notes were prepared in anticipation of the institutional change rather than issued under it.

Robert Julienne's presence across all four signature combinations, regardless of his counterpart, points to continuity in French technical oversight during the transition years. The undated variety with Ould Yezid and Julienne was likely a reserve printing held against shortfalls.
