| Obverse description | Right-facing draped bust of King Faisal I in traditional Arab regalia, wearing a kufiya headdress secured by an agal, with the flowing folds of the headcloth rendered in fine sculptural detail across the truncation. The effigy, modelled by Percy Metcalfe, presents the king with a short beard and moustache, the portrait occupying the majority of the field with no surrounding legend, consistent with its character as an obverse trial piece. |
