| 背面描述 | The reverse features a full-length standing figure of Melita, the classical allegorical personification of Malta, depicted in flowing classical robes bearing a Maltese Cross on her breast and resting her left arm upon a rudder or ship's helm at her side. Behind her, a maritime panorama unfolds showing a coastal watchtower and a sailing vessel on a calm sea beneath a radiant sunrise. Two seahorse devices appear at the upper left and upper right within the inner dotted border. The legend MELITA · 2024 arcs along the left periphery and ONE HUNDRED EURO along the right, with a Maltese star ornament at the base. |

Melita is the ancient Greco-Roman name for Malta, used as a personification of the island from classical antiquity through the Knights of St. John period and into British colonial coinage, where she appeared consistently on currency issued under the Crown. The modern Maltese state has periodically revived the figure as a deliberate reference to that layered history of occupation and identity.
