| 表面の説明 | The central field displays the coat of arms of Malta — a quartered shield bearing the George Cross and vertical stripes, surmounted by a mural crown with five towers — encircled by a laurel wreath tied at the base with a ribbon inscribed REPUBBLIKA TA' MALTA. Two seahorse devices flank the shield at left and right within the inner dotted border. The denomination legend €100 ~ 1 OZ 999.9 FINE GOLD arcs across the upper field, while the country name MALTA appears at the base flanked by two eight-pointed Maltese star ornaments. A further dotted beaded border runs along the inner rim. |

Melita is the ancient Greco-Roman name for Malta, used as a personification of the island from classical antiquity through the Knights of St. John period and into British colonial coinage, where she appeared consistently on currency issued under the Crown. The modern Maltese state has periodically revived the figure as a deliberate reference to that layered history of occupation and identity.
KM#200 is a clean catalog milestone for the Central Bank's gold program.
