At center, Maria Theresa is shown mounted on a rearing horse, robed in richly ornamented coronation regalia and wearing the Crown of St. Stephen, raising a sword aloft in the traditional show of knightly prowess. Crowds of courtiers and onlookers flank the procession in the lower field, while the architectural skyline of Pressburg is rendered in fine detail in the background.
