| 背面描述 | The reverse features a three-quarter portrait bust of Emperor Rudolf II in period attire, wearing an elaborate ruffled collar and richly ornamented doublet, positioned in the left foreground. Behind the effigy, a detailed panoramic view of Prague is depicted, including the Charles Bridge with its characteristic arches spanning the Vltava River and Prague Castle with the Cathedral of Saint Vitus rising prominently on the hilltop. The incuse legend RUDOLF II. KÖNIG v.BÖHMEN arcs along the lower rim within a beaded border, identifying the sovereign as King of Bohemia. The finely engraved cityscape fills the entire field with architectural precision, reflecting the Habsburg imperial capital at its height. |

This piece belongs to Austria's "Crown Jewels of the House of Habsburg" series, which drew on the imperial collections held in the Kunsthistorisches Museum in Vienna. The Crown of St. Wenceslas — the Bohemian coronation crown — was commissioned by Charles IV in 1347 and has been kept under a seven-lock system since the reign of Rudolf II, requiring seven keyholders to be present simultaneously for it to be opened. Charles IV had the crown made expressly for the coronation at Prague, and it has been used for Bohemian royal coronations from his own through that of Ferdinand V in 1836.
The .986 fineness places this slightly above the standard .9999 fine but reflects the Austrian Mint's historical gold alloy specifications for this series.
