The letter 'O' is rendered as a bisected €2 coin, its two halves juxtaposing Joaquin Jiménez's original 1999 national-face design with the revised national face introduced in January 2022, allowing direct visual comparison of the engraver's evolving 'tree of life' motif in its original and contemporary forms.
