António, Prior of Crato, depicted in Renaissance-era attire featuring an elaborately embroidered mantle and ruffled collar, rendered in fine relief. A Maltese cross appears in the right field, alluding to his ecclesiastical rank as Prior of Crato of the Order of Hospitallers. The circumferential legend reads 'D. ANTONIO PRIOR do CRATO' along the upper arc, with the commemorative dates '1595' and '1995' flanked by rosette ornaments along the lower arc, marking the 400th anniversary of his death. |
