| Reverse description | Executed in dark olive-green intaglio over an intricate guilloche underprint, the reverse is centred on the Portuguese coat of arms enclosed within a wreath of foliage, flanked by the numeral 100 set within ornate cartouches. The inscription BANCO DE PORTUGAL arcs across the upper portion of the central composition, with CEM ESCUDOS running along the lower register. An elaborate lace-like guilloche frame with foliate corner embellishments encloses the entire design. |
