| Obverse description | The obverse features a raised central medallion depicting an open book, rendered in low relief against a polished field. Above the book, the denomination '1000' and the Armenian legend 'ԱՄՅԱԿ' (Anniversary) are inscribed, with the date '2002' appearing below. The surrounding border carries the Armenian legend 'ՀԱՅԱՍՏԱՆԻ ՀԱՆՐԱՊԵՏՈՒԹՅՈՒՆ' (Republic of Armenia) along the upper arc and 'ՀԱՐՅՈՒՐ ԴՐԱՄ' (One Hundred Dram) along the lower arc, all in Armenian script.
