| Description de l’avers | The obverse of this triangular gold coin features the sixth and final portrait of Queen Elizabeth II by engraver Jody Clark, depicted as a diademed and draped effigy in right-facing profile, positioned within a circular cameo at the upper apex of the coin. Surrounding the portrait, the legend ELIZABETH II • AUSTRALIA 2021 arcs along the upper border, with the engraver's initials JC incuse below the portrait truncation. The expansive field below the royal effigy is dominated by a richly detailed narrative scene commemorating the 1727 wreck of the Dutch VOC vessel Zeewijk, depicting survivors constructing a rescue vessel from salvaged timbers on a rocky island shore, with multiple figures shown at work: sawing planks, hoisting frames, and directing construction. In the upper right of the field, the stricken Zeewijk is shown foundering on reef in heavy seas, while to the lower right a completed vessel carrying survivors sets sail.
