Beschrijving keerzijde The reverse presents a minimalist, stylised depiction of a kangaroo mid-leap atop the edge of a rocky outcrop or cliff, set against a stark, two-toned landscape evoking the Australian outback at sunset, with a large, smooth disc representing the setting sun in the upper left field. The elongated shadow of the kangaroo stretches dramatically downward in a bold, graphic silhouette, contrasting the frosted background field with the burnished design elements. The inscription '1oz .9999 Au' is engraved vertically along the left side of the field, indicating the coin's weight and gold purity. A small privy mark comprising the numeral '10' within a rectangle, surmounted by a stylised lightning bolt, appears in the lower right field, as seen on the 2017 issue. The design was created by Wade Robinson and is signed with the initials 'WP' denoting the Perth Mint.

Aanvullende informatie

The Perth Mint launched this one-troy-ounce series as part of a broader push to compete directly with the Canadian Maple Leaf and American Gold Eagle in the international bullion market — markets where fractional trust and recognized purity are everything. The .9999 fineness designation, four nines, was the Mint's competitive differentiator; the Royal Canadian Mint had pioneered that standard, and Perth adopted it to capture buyers who viewed .9167 coins as a compromise.

KM#1779 spans the years when the fourth Jody Clark effigy of Elizabeth II was introduced across Commonwealth coinage, replacing the Ian Rank-Broadley portrait that had circulated since 1998.
