| Obverse description | The central vignette combines a view of the Great Wall of China to the left with the Bank of China Tower in Hong Kong to the right, rendered in red tones over a fine guilloche underprint. A large calligraphic centenary logotype — the numeral '100' in bold brushstroke style — dominates the centre of the note, with the denomination in both Chinese characters and English below.
