This 100-dobra note entered circulation well after that transition stabilized, filling the lower-denomination slot in a series designed to reduce the confusion that had dogged the immediate post-redenomination years.

Thomas De La Rue's involvement here is unsurprising — they have handled São Tomé's notes across multiple series — but the addition of a hologram to a note of this face value is worth noting, given the island nation's historically limited annual print runs and the relatively modest purchasing power this denomination represents.
