Reverse description Central device comprising the official emblem of the 9th Mediterranean Games: four interlocking rings above a stylized representation of waves, evoking both the Olympic tradition and the Mediterranean Sea. Above the central device, a curved Arabic legend spanning the upper field identifies the games. The Hijri year 1403 appears to the right and the Christian year 1983 to the left, flanking the central motif. At the bottom, the denomination '100' in Latin numerals is flanked by the Arabic word for dirhams on either side, all within a rope-beaded border.
