| Mô tả mặt trước | Central device depicts a mounted warrior on horseback, shown in left profile with one arm raised, rendered in relief against a plain field. The circular legend in Arabic script running around the upper and lateral periphery reads the full official state title of the Great People's Socialist Arab Libyan Jamahiriya. At the bottom of the coin, flanking the lower field, the Hijri year 1377 appears to the right and the Gregorian year 2009 to the left, with the Arabic inscription 'من وفاة الرسول' (after the death of the Prophet) inscribed along the lower arc. |

| Thông tin bổ sung |
Libya's dirham subdivision coinage was reintroduced in 2009 after decades of dormancy — the subunit had been effectively ignored in daily commerce since the 1970s oil boom rendered small change economically trivial. The revival reflected a broader push by the Central Bank to modernize the circulating coin series following years in which banknotes dominated all transactions.
