Ön yüz açıklaması The obverse reproduces the 1935-dated 100 Reichsmark note, with a portrait vignette of Justus von Liebig at right and a guilloche underprint at centre incorporating a swastika motif. The serial number appears at left, and an adhesive overprint stamp was applied beneath it as part of the 1948 Soviet-zone currency reform. Denomination numerals '100' appear at left and right within decorative borders.

Arka yüz açıklaması The reverse carries ornate guilloche patterning with the denomination '100' repeated within the design field. Lettering reiterates the note's legal authority and issuing institution across the central panel, consistent with the standard Reichsbank 100 Reichsmark reverse layout of the 1935 series.

Yorumlar

The Deutsche Notenbank was the central bank established in the Soviet occupation zone, and this 100 Mark note belongs to the series issued following the June 1948 currency reform — the eastern response to the Western Allies' introduction of the Deutsche Mark in their zones. The split currency effectively formalized the division of Germany's economy before the political division was even fully institutionalized.

A print run just over twelve million is modest for a high-denomination note intended to recapitalize an entire zone. Many were absorbed quickly into savings rather than active circulation, given the economic instability of the early DDR period.
