| Descrizione del rovescio | At center within an inner circle, a bearded facing bust of Pitu Guli, the Macedonian revolutionary hero, is portrayed wearing a traditional fur cap adorned with a kokarda insignia. The name ПИТУ ГУЛИ is inscribed vertically to the left of the portrait within the circle. Flanking the inner circle at left and right are decorative grape cluster motifs in raised relief. The Cyrillic legend ИЛИНДЕН arcs prominently across the upper field outside the circle, and the centennial dates 1903-2003 are inscribed along the lower periphery. |

Issued to commemorate the 1903 Ilinden Uprising, specifically the short-lived Kruševo Republic that survived roughly ten days before Ottoman forces under Bachо Bazain razed the town of Kruševo. Pitu Guli commanded the rebel forces there and died in the fighting on August 12th — refusing to retreat when withdrawal was still possible. The Macedonian government has consistently elevated Ilinden as its foundational national moment, and this gold issue is part of a broader commemorative program that accompanied Macedonia's post-Yugoslav state-building efforts in the early 2000s.
